GEA has published "The Handbook for Regional Competitiveness Assessment”, a result of the GOF - finance project "Romania – Building Regional Assessment Capacity in Line with the Lisbon Agenda"


GEA hosts, on November 28th, 2007, a public conference to launch the 5th edition of its report "Romania and the Lisbon Agenda". The event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bucharest, from 10 a.m.

GEA is undertaking a research commissioned by the Association of Leasing and Non-Banking Financial Services on the topic of credit growth dynamics and potential in Romania.


GEA is undertaking a research for The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (WIIW), within the GDN Southeast Europe network, on the impact of flat tax reform on inequality in income distribution.


GEA completed a study for the European Investment Bank on the financing gap for SMEs in Romania.


Presentations given by professors John Dunning, Rajneesh Narula, Klaus Meyer (Reading University), Ulf Andersson (Uppsala University) and Matija Rojec (Ljubljana University) at the GEA - NEC conference "The Role of Foreign Direct Investments in An Emerging Economy", held in Bucharest on March 16th 2007.

Macroeconomic Programme, within AEG, brings together economists with interests on Romania, and aims to stimulate academic research on the Romanian economy.

The research will be presented in science journals, within the scope of national and international scientific events as well as at workshops, symposia and colloquia. The research results should provide a basis for the exchange of ideas among experts and other relevant groups.

COMPETITIVENESS

This Programme is designed to be a working group on competitiveness. The objectives of the Programme are:

Elaborating market studies that should explore the main components of competitive performance, that means proficiency, eficiency and innovation capacity. The Programme encourages any methodological type of research that represents a sistematic investigation and answers to a need of the bussiness environment.
The priority of the Programme represents the influence of technology, international environment and governamental policies on competitive performance;
Elaborating information materials on the needs of business environment;
Training programmes on different topics identified as being of interest for the business environment.
The Programme is defined by developing some products aimed at fulfilling the objectives.

Shortly, the main products of the Programme are:

Conceiving and elaborating various works (research reports, case studies, books, informative materials, online informative bulletines, authorized translations or for the use of the Programme);
Marketing the works;
Drawing up and elaborating training programmes;
Marketing the training programmes;
Identifying projects and collaborators to fulfill the objectives;
Marketing the projects;
Fund-raising to fulfill the objectives;
Establishing the online and physical library of the Programme;
Issuing information materials (brochures, leaflets, advertising objects etc.) on the Programme;
Setting up the website of the Programme;
Administering the website of the Programme;
